Cuore d’Italia – Mediterranean Flavours

The Cuore D’Italia brand is inspired and shaped by the personal story of its founder, Vincenzo Barillaro, who was born and raised in Calabria, located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, where the name “Italy” originates.

A unique and beautiful region where 800 kilometers of coastline meet mountains, lakes, and national parks. A place where nature still dominates the landscape, and where healthy agriculture and traditional animal farming remain at the core of local culture. Surrounded by a historic village, organic foods and family kitchens filled with traditional aromas, Vincenzo grew up immersed in the true flavours of the land. It is in this environment that his passion for quality food was born—a passion passed down from his grandparents and his parents, who not only taught him about recipes and traditions, but also the importance of high-quality ingredients.

Over the years, this passion became a profession. Vincenzo worked in the food & beverage sector in Italy and across several Northern European countries, gaining experience in the selection, distribution, and promotion of Mediterranean products, while carrying with him the culinary heritage of his homeland.

During this journey, he met his wife, of Canadian origin, and after several years in Europe, they decided to move to Canada.

This is where Cuore d’Italia (Heart of Italy) was born, a company dedicated to importing authentic high quality traditional Italian products and mediterranean flavors to Canadian tables.

Not just food products, but stories of territories, families, and Italian culture.
